PULL YOUR

OWN PRINT

Pull Your Own Print is a D.I.Y. initiative that looks to bring the art of screen printing to the public. People are often intimidated by the idea of creating art, PYOP creates a collaborative experience that allows people to experience art making through the process of screen printing.

Screen printing is a method of print making in which a design is imposed on a screen of polyester or other fine mesh, transfer ink or other printable materials which can be pressed through the mesh as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate.

The basis of this project is to provide people a chance to be a part of creating a piece of art that they can walk away with. They will provide the final step in the artistic process by actually pulling a print themselves. The prints will be from an original series that celebrate Flint. People will be given basic printing instruction and then pull their print. They will walk away with the print and information on the process and the project.

This project is made possible by the 2013 Share Art Flint mini grant and the Ruth Mott Foundation.
